Music for Spirits at Oppenheimer Park

May 15 & June 2, 16 and 23, 2022

Broaden your musical horizons with this series featuring diverse styles and

instruments, from guitar and drums to bike parts! Each music performance will provide a different feel for different spiritual expressions.




May 15th 3pm: Gamelan Bike Bike

June 2nd 7pm: Adrian Avendaño, Lucy Strauss, Natasha Zrno, Matthew Ariaratnam & Andromeda Monk and Feven Kidane

June 16th 7pm: Cesar Chew and Adrian Avendaño

June 23rd 7pm: Lief Hall and Matthew Ariaratnam


I was asked to curate some music at Carnegie Community Centre over the Winter Holiday Season. I am really excited to be able to present these wonderful musicians over the next few weeks. The title of the series is Music for Spirits. There will be limited audience capacity and every performance is free. Thanks to Beverly Walker and Doris Chow for collaborating with me on this.     This Christmas Curation sounds/will sound like a fun time! I also just spent a few really good minutes reading and rereading stuff you’ve posted before. I hope you’ve been well and the recent drastic weather events have not adversely affected you. But, knowing you, I bet you will reflect on these events and perhaps be inspired to use your amazing and fearless affinities with sound to explore them soundwise.
